Welcome back to week three of the “Visit Iowa” blog series.
This week, I am going to introduce you to something that is one of my personal favorite things to do in Iowa during the warmer months.
Principal Park is the place to be to watch America’s favorite pastime, baseball! The famous Des Moines ballpark is home to the Iowa Cubs and is beloved by all of the residents of Iowa.
Principal park is open during the regular baseball season from April 6, 2020 until September 7, 2020. Their full schedule is available on their website here!
According to Tripadvisor.com Principal Park is the #6 thing to do in Iowa! One reviewer described their time at Principal Park as “The best place to be in the Summer.”
Not only is it the best thing to do in the summer, it is also inexpensive. Tickets to the Iowa Cubs baseball games at Principal Park range from $5.00 – $30.00. If you consider yourself as a baseball fanatic, they offer a variety of season tickets ranging in price level.
They also offer parking passes which makes is easy to pull up to the park and get to your seat as soon as possible!

Not only are tickets inexpensive to begin with but they also have deals for groups.
If you are looking to take a group of potential clients, school kids or people from your church, you can reach out to their group sales department at (515) 243-6111 to receive more information on special rates or recommendations on when to visit the park.
Principal Park also offers different things that ensure each night will have a different experience for the consumer. For example, they give away free merch such as bags or bobble heads. They also have themed nights based on the time of year or special events.
If you are looking for something fun to do for a date night or a family outing during the early spring or summer Principal Park is definitely something to consider checking out!
